The opening price is just one ruble. That's less than four agorot. The sale will take place in an auction in October.
The Jewish community used the synagogue until the early 1930s. After that, the Soviet authorities used it as a sports club. Later, a post office operated in it. Since 1999, no one has used the building.
The building is large and has two floors. But it is in poor condition and needs major renovations. The authorities classify it as a heritage building, so whoever buys it will need to preserve its historic appearance.
