A 65-year-old man was attacked in Germany because of a pin with the Israeli flag on his shirt.
The police arrested a young Syrian man on suspicion of attempting to murder him.
According to investigators, the attack was motivated by hatred toward Israel.
The two were standing near a traffic light in a town in Bavaria.

The suspect saw the pin and asked the man about it. After the man replied that it was the Israeli flag, the suspect attacked him. The man tried to escape, but the attacker chased after him. He knocked him down and continued kicking him until the police arrived.
The injured man is suffering from a broken back and is hospitalized. The police are investigating the incident as an attempted murder.
