Recently, however, Hezbollah has been using fiber-optic drones. These drones began appearing on the battlefield in Ukraine about two years ago. A long and thin fiber connects the operator to the drone. Therefore, it's impossible to disrupt their communication using electronic measures.

The IDF still does not have a complete solution to the problem. The Ukrainians also do not yet have perfect protection. The military uses radars, specialized drones, and other systems to detect and neutralize the drones. There is also the use of defense nets. Despite this, some drones manage to reach their targets and harm soldiers.

The situation is causing criticism in Israel. The defense establishment is trying to find solutions. According to a report in Globes, the defense establishment approved a special budget of 2 billion shekels. The aim is to accelerate the development and procurement against fiber-optic drones. There are also startups working on this. There are groups of volunteers trying to develop new solutions. In Israel, there is hope to significantly improve defense in the near future.
