New investigation reveals: one of the lawyers who defended Eichmann was a German agent

After World War II, former Nazis continued to hold senior positions in West Germany.
German intelligence services tried to conceal the Nazi past of some of them.
It has now been revealed that Dieter Wechtenbruch, a lawyer who was part of Adolf Eichmann's defense team during the trial in Jerusalem, secretly worked for German intelligence.

He was given the code V-7461 and provided his handlers with information from within the defense team.
The goal was not only to know what was happening in the trial. German intelligence also wanted to ensure that the trial would not expose the Nazi past of senior officials in the West German government.
