PayPal will lay off about a quarter of its employees in Israel

The American payment company PayPal intends to lay off about 70 employees in Israel.
Currently, about 300 people work for the company in Israel.
That means nearly one out of every four employees will be laid off.
Most of the employees are based at the company's center in Tel Aviv.

They work, among other things, in software development, data analysis, and anti-fraud solutions.
The layoffs in Israel are part of a global plan. PayPal plans to lay off about 20 percent of its employees worldwide. The company aims to save about $1.5 billion annually and invest more in artificial intelligence.
