The President of Israel is visiting the site of the attack in Sydney

Today, the President of Israel, Isaac Herzog, arrived for an official visit to Sydney, Australia.
He visited Bondi Beach, the site of an attack about two months ago.
In the terrorist attack there, 15 people were killed and many were injured.
The attack occurred during Hanukkah celebrations.
Herzog arrived with heavy security.

He visited the memorial for the victims. He placed stones from Jerusalem at the site. In his speech, Herzog compared the evil of the attack to the evil of October 7. He called for strengthening the ties between Israel and Australia. He stated that both countries share democratic values.
Herzog is expected to meet with Australian representatives and visit Jewish communities. Across Sydney, there are currently pro-Palestinian protests against the visit.
